Farewell, dear readers!

Resim
Hello, dear readers! I have made it to the end of another term, but more importantly, the end of this educative blog. I had fun while making this blog, however as someone with dysphoria, it was (and it still is) really hard for me to show my face or share my voice in online public platforms. I am planning to keep my account here as a memory, but of course I will remove some of the content including my profile photo (if that is okay by our proffessor, of course!). So do not worry, maybe I will post something once in a blue moon! As my last message, I wanted to thank you all for reading my posts, it really means a lot to me! Life is a lesson itself with mother nature as our teacher, and I wish that we never stop educating ourselves! May we never stop learning and channeling our inner growth, be it for academics, or personal reasons! For the last time, my dear leaders, Take care and stay safe!

Chatting With the Phantom of the Opera Himself!

Hello, dear readers! Our proffesor has given us the task to chat with an AI chatbot from The Magic School  ,which takes the figure of a historical figure or a book character, write a report on the converstion, and lastly, to give the report to the writing feedback tool created by the same company, get feedback and rewrite the report according to the feedbacks! I chose to converse with The Phantom, Erik, from The Phantom of the Opera, written by Gaston Leroux. He is one of my favorite book charaters. I asked him some questions about the French culture in the era that the book takes place in.  After questioning I got into writing, made my first draft, gave it to the feedback tool and made some adjustments to my report. However, I have to admit that most of the feedback I received did not seem relevant to me, so I did not use them. You can see the transcript of the conversation, both drafts of my report and the feedback I received by clicking here !  While I was chatti...

Dead Poets Society: Carpe Diem

Resim
Hello, dear readers! Me and my friends Buse and Gülşen  did a film review on Dead Poets Society and our peers Elena , Berfin and Baran expressed their opinions on it, you can access each of their blogs by tapping on their names! The task was assigned to us by our professor, she asked us to review a film by first introducing its background and then continuing with a plot summary. After that, we were assigned to choose 3 aspects of the movie such as music, costumes, actor choices etc. Lastly we gave our last ideas and rated the movie. I worked in the first paragraph, decoration and also the aspects part! Also, you can have access to the review page to take a look for yourself by clicking here ! Here is a screenshot of the review page and one of the comments from my peers! I suggest checking the full page because there are over 5 comments and I am afraid that if i share all of them here, the post will be unnecessarily long! With my teammates, we first re-watched the movie, th...

Digital Storytelling: To Reach the Brightest Star

Hello, dear readers! Me and my dearest friend, Buse Beyaz , have created a digital story like our professor has assigned us to do! We used Vimeo to upload it, and have embedded the link here  for you to watch! The story is about a planet trying to reach the brightest star in the universe! Our intention was to teach young children about the planet names and how far they are from the sun. The first part is drawn by me (I know I am not very skilled in digital drawing, but I tried my best, sorry if it looks bad!) , and the second part is drawn by my friend! My friend is really skilled and I absolutely adore how we can see the emotion in every scene! Of course, this task has its own difficulties. We (especially I) struggled a lot with animating characters so we chose not to, however we also did not want to use character creating websites because we wanted to make something more special and something which we could make a memory out of! I loved this task and I also loved how it made me ...

Podcast: A Trickster's Treachery

Hello, dear readers! We were assigned to create a podcast by our professor! Me and my dearest friend, Buse Beyaz chose to do a storytelling podcast that included some selected words and sound effects! The story we told is about a sneaky crime committed by a magician and it is targeted to teenagers and young adults. I do not want to spoil the story too much since the ending is a bit unexpected, so you can take a listen to it  here ! The first half of the story is told by my friend, and the second half, by me! You can access my friend's blog here !  Of course while we were preparing this podcast, we encountered some difficulties. Since we did not have the right equipment or any podcasting/editing experience, it was very hard for us to record (for recording, we used Vocaroo , it is a very nice app and is very beginner friendly!). Plus, it was very, VERY uncomfortable to hear my own voice. The environment did not feel very safe to record a podcast since I was in my own home ...

Cyberbullying: Just a Screen Away

Resim
Hello, dear readers! Today's topic is cyberbullying, I have created an infograph on Venngage . Our professor has asked us to create an infograph and talk about it, so now I will be talking about the process of creation, why I chose cyberbullying as a topic and its benefits for learners! The reason why I chose cyberbullying as my subject is that I was also a victim of both real life and cyber bullying. Unlike the past me, I want my future students to feel comfortable about telling me about their situation. I want everyone to be understanding and educated about cyberbullying, so that the victims of it feel more comfortable speaking up for themselves. To inform people and educate them more, I prepared an infograph on how to reduce cyberbullying rates and how to help victims. The creation process was fun and easy, I had no difficulties. I used Venngage to create my infograph and gained experience in designing materials. If we must speak about education, I have a few words about how inf...

A Warm Welcome!

Welcome to my blog, where I will be posting information and opinions about the topic of education! As a student and a future teacher (hopefully), I think that learning about education is extremely important. However, my personal opinion is that learning about the process and the qualities of education should not be limited to teacher candidates only!  The purpose of this blog is to share some of my opinions and thoughts, and to make information accessible to everyone so that our society can get a better grasp about what is happening and what will happen in the branch of education! Take care!
