I Would Say Farewell, but Another Course Next Year Might Prove Me Wrong...

 Hello, Dear Readers!

What a...Wonderful semester we've had this year! In case you did not get it, I was being satirical. The only way I could restore what's left of my sanity a little bit was working with my beloved friends Buse, Elena and Berfin. I cannot thank them enough both for being reliable and hardworking teammates and amazing friends. They have made groupwork tasks a lot more bearable thanks to their understanding nature. However, I think one of the main weaknesses of this course was the groupworks in the first place. I thought that some of the work could be done individually or in pairs, both because the workload was too much of a hassle to split between teammates, and because it would be too hard to gather 4 people in a free university setting. I got lucky because I already have an awesome friend group already made, but what will the others do? Another major weakness is the timing of the course. Especially the timing of the corpus based learning assignment. We have JUST gotten out of the midterm week, and there was already a deadline waiting for us as if we were not drowning in work already. That assignment easily became my least favorite because of that. My favorite assignment was of course, the AR/VR assignment. The process was so fun and the material also taught me new thhings about France, the country we chose. Of course, this lesson also has its strong points, such as educating the teachers about the technological advancements and tools that they can use in classes. This course added to the workload that we already had and made us chase YET ANOTHER DEADLINE, so it was mentally difficult. My suggestion to improve this class would be seriously considering the timetables of students so that it becomes more student-friendly. For example, the number of assignments could be reduced. To talk about the good parts, at least this course showed me new materials and activities that I may put to action on my future lessons. I wish the students who would take this course next year lots of patience, mental strength and good teammates. 

Well, with that being said, another year comes to an end.

 Hello, dear readers! Me and my friends Buse and Gülşen  did a film review on Dead Poets Society and our peers Elena , Berfin and Baran expressed their opinions on it, you can access each of their blogs by tapping on their names! The task was assigned to us by our professor, she asked us to review a film by first introducing its background and then continuing with a plot summary. After that, we were assigned to choose 3 aspects of the movie such as music, costumes, actor choices etc. Lastly we gave our last ideas and rated the movie. If You Can't Go to Paris, We Will Bring Paris to You!

 Hello, dear readers! In the past, would you have thought of a technology which literally brings the country and its landmarks to your home? If I had the chance to tell this to my great grandma, she would probably laugh at my face, but now it is possible with the AR and VR technologies! Today, with my partners in crime Buse, Elena and Berfin again, we bring Paris to you! We prepared an educative material according to the ASSURE model (you can see our lesson plan here !) in which the students will both learn English and interact with their peers and also learn about the landmarks and the culture of france with immersive technology. Now, let's talk about the features of our worksheet . We prepared the worksheet with Canva and used 360 videos from Youtube for the immersive activities.
